Customer Service Director, Central and East Texas

Mark King is GSA’s Customer Service Director for Central and East Texas, located in Austin. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Tech in 2002, Mark joined GSA as a Financial Management intern, spending 2 years rotating through various budget offices throughout the agency’s central office. Mark later entered the procurement arena by becoming a Contract Specialist at the Greater Southwest Acquisition Center in Fort Worth, TX, where he managed over 100 GSA contracts. In 2009, Mark King was promoted to his current position where he is responsible for servicing all federal, state, and local governments located in and around the greater Houston and Austin areas; a sales territory of over $2 Billion. Mark also serves as the subject matter expert for his regional organization on issues related to state and local governments’ use of GSA contracts. On his free time, Mark enjoys volunteering for The First Tee and indulging his passion for sports and exercise.
The Bay Area Houston Advanced Technology Consortium, or BayTech, is a 501(c)(3) technology consortium that will bring together academia, industry, NASA-JSC, and the State of Texas. BayTech pursues federal and private research and technology development funding that will create jobs, retain the work force and knowledge base, generate new revenue streams, and maximize future opportunities for Texas and the greater Houston region.
