Daniel Mochen is an active duty Lieutenant Commander in the United States Coast Guard and has served for the past fourteen years in the marine safety and security field. He is currently assigned at Coast Guard Headquarters in the Office of Port and Facility Compliance, Domestic Ports Division (CG-FAC-1), Critical Infrastructure Protection Branch. There his responsibilities include conducting cyber risk management of the maritime transportation system. Prior to this position, he was assigned and studying at George Mason University in the Transportation Policy, Operations, and Logistics graduate program. He has also served as the Chief of Vessel Inspections at Marine Safety Unit Savannah, and previous units include Coast Guard’s Liquefied Gas Carrier National Center of Expertise (NCOE), Sector Southeast New England, and Marine Safety Unit Chicago.
