Maritime Domain Awareness
Excellence Award
This award is presented by the Maritime Domain Awareness Executive Steering Committee and acknowledges advancements in Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) information sharing, integration or analysis. Agencies, offices, or individuals may be recognized for exceptional achievements associated with improving MDA. Accomplishment(s) may demonstrate enhancement to our collective understanding of the maritime domain, develop or coordinate information vital to maritime security, or assist those charged with preserving the maritime security of our Nation. Achievements may be analytical, statutory, policy, technical, outreach or enterprise service-related. Eligibility is open to personnel, agencies or offices that are part of the federal interagency; the Intelligence Community; state, local, tribal, or territorial governmental or law enforcement organizations. Members of academia, and the maritime industry whose mission promotes maritime security through MDA may also be acknowledged by this program.
