Alex Boesenberg

Alex Boesenberg grew up in Northern Indiana, joined the United States Navy at 17 and spent two years as an Electronics Technician in the Naval Nuclear Power Program. During that time, he received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. Following graduation, he was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Navy and pursued qualifications and sea service as a Surface Warfare Officer. His last two tours were in the DC Metro area, first as a member of the U.S. Navy Staff Pentagon, Arlington VA, and then as an Operations watch officer for the U.S. Military Sealift Command, Washington DC. Following his service, Alex entered the private sector as a government contractor and served on several U.S. Navy weapons systems management and development programs until moving to the trade association sector. He was with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) for 15 years in a variety of duties before coming to MEMA in August of 2022.
 
Alex Boesenberg is the Manager for Standards Advocacy at ISA. He is nearing two decades of service in the non-profit sector. Prior to ISA he served in Federal and State Regulatory Affairs related positions for the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. He also has extensive experience with standards and intellectual property development. Prior to NEMA, he worked for two years in Naval weapons systems development programs after serving 14 years in the U.S. Navy, first as an enlisted servicemember in the nuclear power program and, following graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy, as a commissioned surface warfare officer.
