Mike Brandhuber is a Senior Director of Growth at Saronic, where he leads the company’s engagement in DC to grow and support DHS, USCG, and non-defense programs.

An aerospace and legislative professional, Mike previously led government relations for a small technology startup and was Textron’s lead for non-defense activities in Washington DC. At Textron, Mike directed all interactions with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), including advocating for common sense and safe regulations for both legacy aircraft systems and emerging technologies like electrified aviation, advanced air mobility (AAM), and airport infrastructure.

Mike retired from the Coast Guard in 2020 after a 26-year career where he balanced aviation assignments flying the MH-65 “dolphin” helicopter with leadership positions in budget formulation, legislation, and strategy. He commanded Air Station New Orleans, the busiest search and rescue unit in the Coast Guard, served as the Director of the Commandant’s Advisory Group, led the 26th Commandant’s transition team, and completed his career as the Coast Guard’s Budget Director.

He serves on the Board of Directors of the Association for Rescue at Sea and volunteers for the Coast Guard Foundation.

Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the United States Coast Guard Academy, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School at the National Defense University.
