Fred Dolbow assumed the Port Security/Recovery Specialist position at USCG Sector MD-NCR in 2013. In this position he serves as a Port Security, Marine Transportation System (MTS) Recovery, and Salvage and Marine Firefighting (SMFF) subject matter expert and is responsible for supporting the Captain of the Port’s MTS critical infrastructure security, recovery, and resiliency planning priorities, goals, and strategies. He leads MTS Recovery training throughout the USCG, conducts vulnerability risk assessments of critical infrastructure, and develops, plans, and facilitates exercises. Fred is a Co-Chair of the MD-NCR SMFF Sub-Committee and serves as a member of several other local USCG and Regional Committees.
Prior to his current civilian position Fred retired from the USCG after serving 22 years active duty. His assignments included; Chief of Police USCG Yard Baltimore, Seamanship and Marine Firefighting School Chief USCG Training Center Cape May, and Deck Watch Officer. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and USCG Chief Petty Officer Senior Leadership Academy.
Fred is native of Portland, ME and currently resides in Severna Park, MD. He is married and has 5 children ranging in ages from 32 years to 10 months old.
