As CEO, Rick provides the Maritime Cybersecurity Institute (MCSI) with overall leadership and strategic vision, with a focus on improving the cybersecurity posture of the commercial maritime transportation ecosystem – ports, ships, intermodal transportation, and all related ecosystem partners.

Rick brings nearly 40 years of cybersecurity expertise to the MCSI, including over 25 years of consulting to some of the world’s largest organizations while working for Deloitte and Ernst & Young. During his Deloitte tenure, Rick served as the Firm’s Global Chief Information Security Officer, leading an effort to globalize and standardize the Firm’s cybersecurity protections worldwide.

Prior to his time in the consulting arena, Rick served as Chief Technology Officer for Harris Corporation / CyberGuard Corporation after working at the National Security Agency early in his career, where he began his career in cybersecurity.
