Alyssa Malcomson has been working for the federal government for the past nine years. She has performed a wide range of administrative and analytical duties. Ms. Malcomson’s experience encompasses program management, including contracts and grants, research, innovation and development, data analysis, evaluation and reporting, and planning, programming, budgeting, and execution as well as auditing and ensuring regulatory compliance.

She has provided leadership and guidance to coworkers, federal agencies, and other stakeholders regarding policy compliance, programmatic performance, and continuous process improvement. She has facilitated collaboration at the federal and state level and has established cross-agency workgroups. These collaboration efforts were instrumental in project success.

During her time as a Public Health Advisor at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Ms. Malcomson created a new data system, SAMHSA’s Performance Accountability and Reporting System (SPARS), which incorporated electronic health records (EHR) and included a data visualization dashboard.

At DHS, she is a Maritime Safety and Security Program Manager and provides decision making, financial analysis, and project support on multiple projects, including the Next Generation Maritime Public Communications (NGMPC) activity, Waterway Analysis and Management System (WAMS), Mass Rescue Device, Ontology, and Alternative Energy.
She has been the recipient of multiple awards in recognition of her strategic ideas and performance.

Ms. Malcomson has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Public Health from the University of Maryland.
